Homayoun Karimpour

Homayoun Karimpour was born in Kabul. He studied at Esteqlal High School before earning a fine arts degree from Kabul University. He has published short stories and poems in various magazines in the Afghan capital. Some of his short stories were broadcast by Kabul radio. He has made two short and tow long features films.

At the start of the war, he went into exile. He crossed several countries, settled 3 years in Italy before settling in France.

In France, to earn a living, he became a commercial traveler in industry. At the same time he writes and analyzes scripts. In 1999 he left for the Afghan border, brought together refugee actors and made his first fiction feature film, which was selected at 17 festivals around the world. (Tribeca Festival in New York, Competition Section.) Excellent reviews from Variety, Denver Film Festival in Colorado (USA), Raindance in London, Cairo International Film Festival, Trois Continents (France) and other festivals in Morocco, Germany, Ecuador , Sweden, Tunisia …)
